Your Amazon business can be more profitable with a number of products all bringing in $5000 a month. It’s a lot less work and less problematic than that “big fish” $100K a month product.
Some of our best products started off doing $5000 in sales a month. Here’s why they are better:
- They have the highest margins (up to 40%).
- Your PPC is less expensive and less competitive (spending a lot less per click). The best part is that you don’t have to micromanage PPC daily, but instead only check on it once a week.
- We typically don’t have to do a thing besides consistently reordering.
These are products that had fewer than 100 reviews and around $5000 a month in sales when we sourced them! Now they typically have about 350 reviews.
Why We OWN These “Low Sales” Niches
Targeting these kinds of products means that you have no competition. You can own those niches. As Amazon grows and gets more customers and traffic, we grow with them as the #1 listing! Side Note: Amazon isn’t even close to being done growing. So this strategy amounts to “buying low” and positioning for the upside of growth.
What A 40% Margin Means To You In Amazon Revenue
Now let’s look at the $5K/month product. You can easily find products with 40% margins. 40% margins (40% of $5K) gives you $2K/month in revenue. Multiplying that by 12 months gives you $24K/year.
But That’s Not Enough!
OK, you’re sitting there thinking that doesn’t seem like enough to make a full-time living on, right?!
Here’s Why It’s Great
- Well with this product, you will be on page 1 right away because there is no other competition for this product. OK, so no work there to rank up and you see sales instantly.
- You may not even need to do PPC. But if you do, PPC becomes a campaign of 5-10 phrases instead of 100’s. You’ll only spend 30 minutes MAX every week doing PPC for a product. So minimum work and expense on PPC.
- No black hat competitors, not enough sales for them there. You’re not spending a lot of time defending your position.
