Amazon Seller Fees Are NOT Expensive

Sometimes, you hear complaints from sellers about Amazon FBA Fees. Why do I have to pay that? That’s way too much money! It’s highway robbery!

I can understand those comments. I even felt that way for a minute myself way back when I began my own Amazon business.

But I want you to think this through and consider what you’re actually buying when you pay those fees.

  • It’s a convenience fee for Amazon to store your products and to ship them to your customers. You don’t have to worry about any of the problems with fulfillment, logistics, or customer service.
  • You don’t have to have a warehouse or a shipping plan or employees, or worry about any of those details.
  • You’re paying a price for Amazon’s huge organic customer base. This is priceless. Amazon’s been building its customer base since 1995. When you consider that there are 310M active users on Amazon, and that 197M people A MONTH use the Amazon app (according to the webtribunal.net blog), you’re getting a bargain!
  • Buyers trust Amazon, and aren’t afraid to buy from Amazon. Prime members buy hundreds/thousands of products on there. They know that if anything goes bad, they’re safe. Right? Amazon will take care of them. They can buy without fear.

Compare To A Seller’s Life Without Amazon Fees

Let’s compare that to what you’d need to do without Amazon fees.

  • You’d do something like start a Shopify store, and put your product on there. So you’d have to build and maintain that website.
  • You’d have to pay a ton for Facebook ads, Google ads, or your choice of paid ads, just to get traffic.
  • Getting traffic doesn’t mean they’re gonna convert, because people don’t trust your website at first, right? It’s going to take a lot of time to build that trust. They have to see your brand over and over again to develop enough trust before they’ll buy from a random website.
  • You’d have to have a warehouse to be sure that you maintain enough inventory to fulfill orders.
  • You’d either have to fulfill the orders yourself or hire someone to do it.
  • You have to handle all the customer service yourself or pay someone else.

Amazon Fees Are A Bargain

Now you have a better idea about what you’re paying for with your Amazon fees. In reality, you’re buying freedom so that you have the time to research more products and focus on growing your Amazon business. That’s why I recommend the FBA business model to all my clients. It costs you, but you’re getting a bargain.
