Amazon FBA Was Not An Option For Me…

I really needed that money to continue living and get a normal life back.

See, in 2016, I was bitten by a tick…

This tick gave me Lyme disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Babesia, & Bartonella (all tick-borne diseases).

That year I woke up one morning with half my face paralyzed, went to the ER, and they assumed I had Lyme since a few others in the area had the same issue.

They gave me 30 days of antibiotics and said no big deal, you will be fine…

I thought little of it, they were the professionals and I was young and was eager to get back to my life of fun as a college student.

I was a ticking time bomb though…

In 2017, I started my Amazon business just because I knew I wanted more than a 9-5, and of course, I wanted to have a full-time income + more by creating my own business. No other reasons.

My business that year ended up doing 1.1 Million in sales, with about ~600k in profit.

I got to put about $300k in my personal bank account (had a 50/50 business partner) and started my journey as a successful entrepreneur.
That money is gone though now…

Because I needed it for something I never expected.

In 2018, I got sick. Really sick.

At the time no one could tell me what was wrong with me.

My gallbladder failed, I couldn’t eat food (lost about 35 lbs and was skin and bone), I couldn’t sleep, I was having panic attacks, had migraines that never stopped, my brain was so foggy I couldn’t even check email with it causing terrible fatigue.

It wasn’t sustainable, I had no life left.

Doctor after doctor I went to just said that I had anxiety issues because when you have more than 5 symptoms that is what they have to assume.

Kept going to more doctors, bills kept racking up.

Had my gallbladder removed, another bill.

3 years of this, hearing the same thing over and over again, and watching my bank account dwindle.

Until finally, I had a client who was going through the EXACT same thing as me, and she had just been diagnosed with Lyme disease.

How could this be what I had? Doctors years ago said this was a nonissue.

Sure enough, I went to the right kind of specialist and my charts were all red.

These tick borne diseases had been wreaking havoc on my body for years now and it took quite a toll.

My body was no longer producing testerone, had lead poisoning, had mold poisoning, and none of my blood markers looked good (as lyme really doesn’t allow your body to get rid of things naturally anymore).

I now know what the problem is…

The issue is that it isn’t cheap to fix, as western medicine does not like to cover treatments that actually work for long-term Lyme.

Found another specialist in Georgia that I flew to for over 2 years to get special treatment done along with so many prescriptions, infusions, and supplements you wouldn’t believe.
Happy to say as of 6 months ago, I officially tested negative for Lyme disease along with the other tick-borne diseases.

Took about 5 years total from the time I got really sick and actually figured out what was wrong with me…

This had pretty much drained me of any excess cash that I had year after year, as I was desperate to figure it out.

So for me, making money with my Amazon business was not a choice, it was actually a necessity…

I just didn’t know it at the time.

I can’t imagine not having the time flexibility to visit all the doctors and specialists I went to see.

I would have been fired, that’s even if I still had a job from me not being able to read email without breaking down.

And I really can’t imagine not having an Amazon business that was bringing me in cash flow to keep paying for medical bills and living expenses…

Without both the money and the time, I would still be sick as I wouldn’t have been able to keep going on.

Now, this is just one example of something happening in life that we don’t expect. There are deaths, illness, disasters…

And without time and money, we could be helpless.

I am not saying this to scare you either, I just want to share my story and honestly share how grateful I am that I started the business.

As we have no idea what is coming our way.

This has been even more motivation for me to keep pushing my financial goals further because if anything happens like this with my family, I will be ready.

So next time you think about starting that business or that additional income, it might not be a choice, it could be a necessity.
