How To Find Products To Sell On Amazon With Viral Launch 

Product research with Viral Launch doesn’t have to be complicated! The Viral Launch Product Discovery tool makes the process easy, but only if you have the right strategies. Whether you’re searching for a product research software or simply want to try a new method for finding that “winning” product, this is the guide for you. I will explain how I do product research with Viral Launch, step-by-step within the “Product,” “Keyword,” “Brand,” and “Category” tools. Let’s get started.

Product Research With Viral Launch

Once you have a Viral Launch account, head on over to the dashboard, click the left menu, and select “Product discovery” and “Search.” From there, follow these steps to find your next winning product. 

Viral Launch Product Search

  • Make sure you’re on the “Product” tab 
  • Add a monthly revenue filter with 3,000 minimum to 12,000 maximum
    • I tend to search for products that are less saturated with room for growth 
  • Add a price filter between $13-30
    • This price range is my sweet spot! I aim for 30-40% margins on all products I sell 
  • Add a filter for review count, ideally under 100 reviews 
    • Keep in mind that the more reviews a product has, the stiffer the competition
  • Once you have the filters set up, you can select a product category 
    • My favorite product categories, based on margins, are: Art, Crafts & Sewing, Baby, Computers & Accessories, Health & Household, Industrial & Scientific, Kitchen & Dining, Office Products, Pet Supplies, Sports & Outdoors, Automotive, Camera & Photo, Cell Phones & Accessories, Home & Kitchen, Musical Instruments, Patio, Lawn & Garden, Tools & Home Improvement
  • Check any (or all) of these categories and click “Show products”
  • Viral Launch will then sort through hundreds of products for you within the parameters you’ve set
  • Now you can click each product in the search results to view its Amazon listing
  • I often go straight to page ten because most sellers will only look at the first few pages of search results 

The only downside with this method is that you will end up with hundreds of products, and it can be challenging to find the right “fish”  in such a large pool. To combat this, I utilize the Keyword tool in Viral Launch. 

Viral Launch Keyword Search

  • Within the “Keyword” tab, you will use the same filters mentioned above 
  • Once you’ve checked all filters, you can type in a product category that interest you, like “Baby,” to get more granular results 
  • Under advanced filters, add a search volume of 1,000 minimum to avoid products that don’t have enough demand 

Pro tip: Watch out for products with the label “Warning: popular result” because that tells you that many sellers have viewed that product, so it’s likely not a good choice.

  • From here, go to page ten and view products 
  • Once you find a few interesting products, click the link to view the corresponding Amazon listing 
  • When you’re on the listing page, you can use your Viral Launch web extension to see monthly revenue for that product from all sellers
  • Overall, the Keyword tool is my preferred product research method

Brand Search

  • Within the “Brand” tab you will add filters for “Growth rate”
    • I like to use the “Insane mode” option 
  • The Average price filter can stay between $13-30 
  • Add a filter for average review count up to 105 reviews
  • Click “Show brands” 
  • Hop on over to page 10 
  • Use Viral Launch’s web extension to see monthly revenue 

Viral Launch Category Search

  • Within the “Category” tab you will add filters for price and review count
    • The average price filter can stay between $13-30 
    • The average review count can also stay up to 105 reviews
  • Click “Show categories” 
  • Hop on over to page 10 
  • From there, find a few exciting categories and search the best-sellers for that category on Amazon
    • For example, gift boxes
  • Look for products that are lightweight, easy to ship, with low review counts and higher price points for the best results

Overall, Viral Launch is a great tool to use to conduct your product research. With Viral Launch you can research products, keywords, brands, and categories with ease.
