How to Find the BEST & HOTTEST Amazon FBA Products

Even the most experienced Amazon sellers often struggle to find the best and hottest Amazon FBA products. To be fair, the process can be confusing, and narrowing down products in a sea of millions is no simple task. While a lemon squeezer might be the perfect product one month, a coffee grinder may take over the next. Staying above the competition is key to operating a successful Amazon business and this guide will show you exactly how to do it. As a seven-figure Amazon FBA seller, I know the ideal product research process and when you finish this article, you will too!

Please note: I use Helium 10 in this article, but you can use these strategies with ANY product research software.

How To Find The Best-Selling Amazon FBA Products

To get started with product research, hop on over to the Amazon best-sellers page and start browsing by product categories. Find a few products that are doing well in your relevant category. For example, in the Home & Kitchen category, shower curtain liners may be trending. Search for “shower curtain liners” in the search bar and view listings. Using a product research web extension, like Helium 10 you can see sales stats for specific products.

Keep researching more products and dive into sub-categories to discover a product niche you can tap into.

Using Keyword Research To Find The Ideal Amazon FBA Products For You

While there are thousands of sellers selling shower curtain liners, for example, there are still ways to get your piece of the pie. Using the keyword research tool within Helium 10, you can search for product keywords and see the volume by search traffic and other stats. You can also drill down further and sell more personalized versions of popular products. For example, a holiday-themed shower curtain liner or a sports-team shower curtain liner could be great options with less or no competition. Targeting these sub-niches will allow you to compete in that space in a way that you likely could not with the standard product, as it is too saturated.

Within Helium 10 I like to sort by volume estimate and focus on the 1-5K search volume estimates. Perhaps a shower curtain liner with magnets has 4,000 searches per month. In that case, I can right-click on the Helium 10 results and view product listings on Amazon for that product. Within the Amazon listings, look for review numbers to get a feel for how competitive the niche is. Additionally, I like to see monthly revenue and Amazon page ranking to determine if there is an opportunity for sales. If, for example, a seller is ranking #30 or more and still making significant revenue, that’s a good sign and it tells me that there is still money to be made within that product niche, as long as I differentiate. Our goal is to find products with high sales and low reviews because there’s an opportunity to grow.

In addition to Home & Kitchen, the Home & Garden category is also a great place to research products. Home products tend to have a high mark-up and there are typically many styles and variations you can offer to stand out against the competition.

More Amazon FBA Product Research Tips

When I am researching products, I like to track data in an excel spreadsheet to stay organized. I will compile a list in Excel, track sales, reviews, and other metrics for a week or two to get the full scope of what’s selling the best. This way, I don’t accidentally source a product that is a dud!

I would also encourage you to bundle products together. For example, if specific products sell well individually, why not bundle them together at a slightly lower price than the single items? This way, you will have a unique product no other seller has, and one that you know will be successful because the demand is there.

Wrap-Up

Continuous product research is a must for Amazon FBA sellers, however, it seems that every seller uses the same product research tools and comes up with the same results. This is a unique way to do product research that can really help catapult your business. So, research products and find different niches, sub-niches and bundles, stay organized and wait a few weeks before you commit. Take advantage of the helpful software out there, like Helium 10 to do your keyword research, get creative, and remember that Amazon FBA is a journey, not a race.
