For the final week of Team Takeover, I want to introduce Coleman – the man behind our advertising and online presence.
Here are a few resources he’s created and a few things he’s been enjoying outside Amazon FBA.
It’s Been A Rough Year
I’m a diehard Green Bay Packers fan. I watch every game and have been for years.
But if you follow football, you’ll know that they’re having a terrible season. They started off 2-0, but have fallen to 3-6. One of their worst starts in decades.
Their new quarterback looks overwhelmed and the rest of their team isn’t much better. Seems like it’s going to be a lost year. Something I’m not used to saying, since they are usually one of the best NFL teams every year.
Meanwhile, Camron’s favorite team and one of the Packer’s biggest rivals, the Minnesota Vikings, are rolling and have won 5 games in a row.
He’ll probably be very happy to remind me during our next team meeting lol.
Starlink Is A Game Changer
I live in the middle of nowhere. So for years, I had to suffer through the pain of having slow internet. I couldn’t stream movies, join video calls with the camera on, and some websites took foreverrr to load.
Recently, I got Starlink for my house though and it is a game changer!
The company basically takes satellites and shoots them into space. Then connect them to an antenna on your roof. So if you live in a rural area that has obstructions like trees, you can still get high-speed internet, since the signal is coming from space instead of a cell tower.
It was super easy to set up, and my internet speeds have gone from 5Mbps to 200Mbps.
Feels like I’m living in a new world. No longer have to look at that pesky loading bar haha.
It is a little pricy (~$120/mo) but for how much I use it, it’s worth it. So if you’re having problems with your internet speeds, highly recommend.
What I’m Watching
James Jani is one of my favorite YouTube channels. He makes documentaries on intriguing topics like crypto and scams.
The production quality of his videos is insane! Between the storytelling, editing, and animations, it feels like you’re watching a Netflix documentary.
My favorite video is his documentary on Megachurches. I’ve watched it at least three times, and every time I watch it, I’m blown away by the quality. It is a must watch.
What I’m Reading
Skin in the Game, by Nassim Taleb. Typically, I’m not much of a reader – I learn better by watching videos. But this is one of my favorites. In fact, it’s one of the only books I’ve ever re-read.
One of the main concepts is that when you’re making decisions you should have “skin in the game” to align your interests with the consequences. It also shows how the lack of personal risk can lead to poor decision-making.
A very thought-provoking book.
What I’m Listening To
I love country music and I recently stumbled across a lesser-known artist, Bryan Martin. His music is kind of a mix between new and old country music. If you’re looking for a recommendation, We Ride is probably my favorite song.
Quote Of The Week
“It is not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”
– Nassim Taleb
