Here are a few resources I’ve created and a few things I’ve been enjoying outside Amazon FBA.
Winston Churchill’s War Rooms
We just got back from vacation and one of the most exciting parts was seeing Winston Churchill’s War Rooms from WWII.
This is the secret underground headquarters under Whitehall (a term meaning UK government offices). These are the rooms in London where Winston Churchill ran the war. You’ve probably seen in movies how they used sticks to move around miniature ships and troops and planes on a big topographical map.
World War II In Color
I love history, and have gotten into learning about WWII history. I’ve seen the series World War II In Color about eight times. It’s great. It’s fantastic.
The series is in full colour. Of course, they only had black and white films at that time. So they combine both original and colourized footage. The show covers the Western Front, Eastern Front, North African Campaign, and the Pacific War.
It was really exciting for me to see the War Rooms in person. Get a chance to feel the history that was made in those rooms.
Darkest Hour, Churchill And Leadership
That led me to watch Darkest Hour when I got back home to Nashville. On June 16, 1940, Churchill described the collapse of France following the German invasion as “the darkest hour in French history” and that’s the period covered in the movie.
Fantastic movie, I loved it. One of the better movies I’ve seen in a long time. It’s great. I highly recommend it.
It’s the story about how Churchill used his strategy and superior oratory to rally his whole nation to literally fight for survival despite what seemed like impossible odds. A lot of the movie was shot in the war rooms.
What sticks with me is the fact that the type of leader needed is different in times of war than in times of peace. Winston Churchill was the perfect leader for that time of crisis for his country. Without him, would his country have survived?
My Team Didn’t Need Me During Vacation
That got me thinking about leadership. I was really excited to see that my team didn’t need me during my almost 3-week vacation. They operated like a well-oiled machine while I was gone.
What Do You Need To Do To Build That Kind Of Amazon Business
I want you to think about what it will take for you to create an Amazon business that eventually works that way–without you. Even if you’re just beginning the business, think “down the road” to creating this kind of a business.
Figure out what constraints are holding you back. Why are you not moving forward? If you fix these things early on, you’ll be able to scale more easily.
Focus On What Drives The Needle
Here’s one thing that came to me on vacation…maybe all the things I was working on weren’t the important things. We need to focus on the things that actually drive the needle and are important.
Where’s the friction in your business and how do you get rid of it? Just stop stressing about the day by day and focus on the things that are gonna move you and the business by 10 X.
Amazon FBA Macro Environment (You’re Missing THIS During Product Research)
After working with hundreds of people to get their Amazon FBA businesses up and running, I’ve noticed that there’s a common theme most people miss that costs them thousands of dollars… and that is the macro environment.
If you’re not looking at the macro environment of the product and doing your research on your competitors, then you’re potentially throwing away your investment. So if you want to learn more about this, then be sure to check out my recent video where I talk all about it.
